Fresh to Auckland city centre, Ongi Restaurant brings a nimble fusion of Japanese clarity and Korean soul. The kitchen honours tradition while adding playful twists, from beloved chicken and pork cutlets paired with creamy pasta to inventive takes that have quickly earned a following.

Beef tataki arrives lightly seared and glossed with a tangy soy-based sauce, a study in balance and bite. Heat hits the spot with spicy chicken tangled in cheese and noodles, while slow-cooked pork belly invites hands-on enjoyment with garlic, lettuce ssam and Ongi's signature chilli dip.

Fried chicken delivers crunch in every bite, whether original or lacquered in yangnyeom, sweet soy or cheese, alongside a golden pork cutlet that stays juicy at heart. When the weather turns, steaming bowls appear: cod fish soup that can hum or roar, and jjamppong, a seafood noodle storm laced with vegetables.

Ongi Restaurant offers lively flavours, bold combinations and an unfussy good time right in the heart of the city centre!
